SAMHSA’s “Talk. They Hear You.” Campaign: Empowering Parents and Caregivers


The “Parents’ Night Out” educational session offers an interactive, facilitator-led experience held virtually on Zoom. This hour-long session is designed to equip parents and caregivers with the tools and confidence to address the realities of underage drinking and substance use. Participants gain practical strategies for starting important conversations with their children and motivating them to take proactive steps toward prevention.


In just one hour, “Parents’ Night Out” aims to help parents and caregivers:

  • Get Informed: Build awareness of the risks and realities of underage drinking and substance use.

  • Be Prepared: Learn skill-building techniques and discover valuable resources and tools.

  • Take Action: Gain the confidence and support needed to help prevent underage drinking and substance use.
