SAMHSA’s national youth substance use prevention campaign, “Talk. They Hear You.”, empowers parents and caregivers with the tools they need to start conversations with their children about the dangers of alcohol and other drugs. At DFYC, we believe that starting small can lead to big changes. Exploring these resources early helps protect your child’s future.
Why Early Conversations Matter
Starting the conversation early is one of the most effective ways to prevent youth substance use. When parents and caregivers talk openly about the risks of alcohol and other drugs before children face peer pressure, they build a foundation of trust and knowledge. Amplifying Prevention in York County
DFYC brings the Communities Talk and Talk. They Hear You campaign's home to York County, Pennsylvania. We are running a 22-week campaign packed with local workshops, tailored conversation starters, hands-on support for parents, podcasts, mini-events, and more. We will conclude the campaign with a banquet on October 18th at Pine Ridge Farms in Stewartstown. Together, we amplify SAMHSA’s mission to protect our youth and build a resilient, informed community.
