About the event

The Drug-Free Youth Coalition will be hosting a sexual violence workshop that will include a community discussion on the lived experiences of sexual violence and evidence-based prevention for youth and young adults.


Healing

Sharing personal stories can be a powerful step toward healing, reducing feelings of isolation, and building supportive communities. Survivor narratives help normalize emotions, challenge harmful myths, and empower both individuals and the broader movement for change. Finding safe spaces and building a solid support network are key, and each survivor is encouraged to share at their own pace.


The workshop will include guest speaker Sandra Baldwin, the author of Seldom Spoken. Sandra Baldwin broke the silence on her 1986 home invasion and rape at knife-point with the release of her memoir in early 2026.
